FEMA recovery center opens in Sarasota

Starting Thursday, a joint Federal Emergency Management Agency and state disaster recovery center will open in Sarasota. It will stay open until Sunday, Oct. 29.

Those in need of relief may visit the Robert L. Taylor Community Center at 1845 34th St. Hours of operation Thursday through Saturday are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday.

Workers at the center will aid Hurricane Irma survivors in applying for disaster assistance and help answer recovery questions.
