Silver Alert issued for Sarasota man with dementia
Officials are searching for a missing Sarasota County man with signs of dementia and issued a Silver Alert late Tuesday night.
Pierre Menetrier, 89, was last seen in his 7200 block of Cloister Drive apartment complex around 6 p.m. Tuesday night, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office. He lives with his wife, who officials say also has dementia.
Menetrier may be driving a silver 2003 Hyundai Elantra with Florida license plate IKYV33, according to the sheriff’s office. Officials said he has no other friends or family in the area and is believed to usually only travel to a nearby shopping center.
Menetrier is described as a bald man, standing about 5-feet 5-inches tall, weighing about 165 pounds and could be wearing glasses, according to the Silver Alert issued around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.
