Bradenton homicide suspect captured hours after early Sunday shooting
A 30-year-old Bradenton man is under arrest for murder after an early Sunday morning shooting, according to the Bradenton Police Department.
At 4:12 a.m., officers were dispatched to a suspicious circumstance call in the 2100 block of 21st Street West, where arriving officers found a 43-year-old deceased male inside the residence.
His name is being withheld until notification of next of kin, according a news release from Bradenton Police Chief Melanie Bevan.
The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit began the investigation, and detectives were able to arrest Albert Knowles.
According to jail records, Knowles has had at least two previous encounters with law enforcement. The first was in 2006 when he was arrested on possession of marijuana and possession with the intent to deliver, use or manufacture.
In 2010, Knowles was arrested for domestic battery and tampering in a misdemeanor proceeding, records show.
