One dead in Interstate 75 vehicle fire in Sarasota

Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating a vehicle fire and fatality on southbound Interstate 75 that was reported about 6 a.m. Sunday, according to the sheriff’s office.

First responders found the victim trapped inside the vehicle and another person, who survived, out of the vehicle near milepost 202, south of Clark Road, according to a sheriff’s office report.

No additional details were released.
