Local lawmakers to host Manatee delegation meeting

It’s almost time to pitch a bill in Manatee County. Sen. Bill Galvano will lead the 2018 Manatee County Legislative Delegation meeting Oct. 19.

The meeting will be held at 9 a.m. Oct. 19 in the Manatee County Commission Chambers at 1112 Manatee Ave. W.

Local government and other interested parties are welcome to propose legislation for the upcoming 2018 Legislation Session. Those looking to present a new bill must draft the legislation in bill form and accompany it with a resolution from local government supporting the proposed legislation.

Galvano also asks that this information, as well as 10 copies of any required handouts for delegation members, be sent to his district office at 1023 Manatee Ave. W., Suite 201, Bradenton, FL 34205 no later than Oct. 12. Participants may also send these documents electronically to smith.macey@flsenate.gov.

To be included in the meeting’s agenda, contact Macey Smith at 941-741-3401 no later than noon Oct. 12.

After the consideration of local bills, the meeting will move on to public comment regarding state issues that are of concern.
