Hold your conversation: National Coffee With a Cop Day celebration postponed
National Coffee With a Cop Day will need to be observed another time after the city of Bradenton announced a boil-water notice that will last until Thursday afternoon.
A makeup date for the community outreach effort has not yet been finalized.
“We apologize for the inconvenience, and look forward to good coffee and conversation to come,” said a statement from the Bradenton Police Department on Tuesday.
The boil-water notice comes after a power outage disrupted a pump station. Bradenton residents across the city reported lost water or reduction in flow Monday night.
City officials announced Tuesday afternoon that the notice is “precautionary.”
Two local Wawa locations were scheduled to provide an outlet for the community to ask local law enforcement questions and “improve trust and build relationships — one cup of coffee at a time.”
The Bradenton Police Department originally planned to use the event to debut its new Armored Surveillance Vehicle that will be stationed in crime-ridden areas in an effort to deter criminals.
An announcement detailing the rescheduled date will be made in the coming days.
