Planning on drinking this weekend? Plan for a sober driver
Those planning to partake in a few drinks this weekend should also plan to find a sober driver.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers will be holding a DUI Wolfpack Operation over the weekend to remove impaired drivers from the roads, FHP announced Friday morning.
The Wolfpack Operation starts at 9 p.m. Saturday and will last through 5 a.m. Sunday in Manatee, Sarasota, Desoto, Hardee and Highlands counties.
The operation will focus mobile troopers along Interstate 75 through the counties, as well as major state and county roads.
Florida law considers a driver with .08 or higher Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) to be impaired. Drivers under the age of 21 with a BAC of .02 or higher are also in violation of Florida law.
