The public will have an opportunity to learn about the details of a project to revamp the interchange at Interstate 75 interchange and State Road 70 at a workshop next month.

The Florida Department of Transportation project has a $119 million price tag and will widen Interstate 75 from State Road 64 East to University Parkway. State Road 70 will also grow by about a mile to accommodate a modified diamond interchange design between Tara Boulevard and 87th Street East.

The project’s design is expected to be finished by spring 2018, and construction will begin later that year.

A similar project at State Road 64 began in June, and the project at U.S. 301 is planned to start in 2020.

The workshop will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 19 at Manatee Technical College, located at 6305 State Road 70 East.

For more information about the project, anyone can visit www.i75manatee.com.
