Alcohol will now be allowed on St. Pete Beach beaches, but only in certain places.

Guests drinking on the beach must also a wristband so local officials can identify them as hotel guests, according to Bay News 9.

Hotels found violating the new policies could lose their beach alcohol permit, according to Bay News 9.

Previously, there was a total alcohol ban on St. Petersburg beaches.
