FHP looking for hit-and-run driver
The Florida Highway Patrol is looking for a hit-and-run driver responsible for two SUVs getting rear-ended.
At 3:35 p.m. Thursday, a 57-year-old Bradenton man driving a 2012 Honda CRV was stopped for traffic on State Road 64 near the intersection of 66th Street Court East behind a 50-year-old Bradenton man driving a 2010 Chevrolet Avalanche when the CRV was rear-ended. The collision caused the CRV to rear-end the Avalanche.
The driver of the Pathfinder drove off and the CRV and Avalanche had moved out of the roadway by the time a FHP trooper arrived to the scene of the crash.
The other drivers described the SUV as a green late 1990s to early 2000s Nissan Pathfinder with front-end damage including detached headlights that were seen hanging from its wire harness. The suspected SUV had a Florida tag which started with 2029, according to one of the drivers. The hit-and-run driver was described as a man between the ages of 60 and 70.
Anyone with any information about the case or who knows the whereabouts of the suspected hit-and-run driver is asked call FHP Cpl. L. Smith at 941-751-8359.
