Flood warning issued for Manatee River near Myakka Head
The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Manatee River near Myakka Head.
Three to five inches of rain fell in the headwaters of the Manatee River basin Friday afternoon, according to NWS, which will cause the river to rise above flood stage late Friday night into Saturday morning.
As of 9 p.m. Friday, it was measuring 8.1 feet; flood stage is 11 feet. According to NWS, the river is expected to rise near 11.5 feet by Saturday afternoon and then fall below flood stage by Sunday morning. Minor flooding is forecast.
