1 dead in fiery Bradenton car crash early Sunday

A single-vehicle crash in the 4000 block of State Road 64 East claimed the life of one of the occupants early Sunday morning.

A maroon 2011 Chevrolet Malibu with two occupants left the road, crashed into a wooded area and caught fire around 3:20 a.m., according to a Bradenton Police Department news release.

Emergency medical personnel took a man from the car to Blake Medical Center in critical but stable condition, the release said.

The other occupant did not survive the crash, the release added.

Traffic homicide investigators are currently working to identify the deceased person, the release states.
