Early morning fire leaves four injured, damages Bradenton home
Four people suffered injuries in a blaze that left a Bradenton home severely damaged in the early morning hours Saturday, according to the Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue.
The home, with an estimated value of $125,000, sustained about $50,000 worth of damage as a result of heavy fire damage to its the interior and attic space, according to fire officials.
At 4:46 a.m., Cedar Hammock received a call reporting the fire at a home in the 300 block of 59th Avenue Drive West in Bradenton, according to a news release. When firefighters arrived within four minutes of the call, black smoke could be seen billowing from the roof, and flames were visible from the front window.
In less than 20 minutes, Cedar Hammock crews, with the assistance of Southern Manatee firefighters, got the fire under control. A total of four fire engines, five ambulances, two fire inspectors and four supervisors responded to the scene.
State Fire Marshal’s Office investigators were at the scene Saturday morning to determine the cause of the fire.
There were no injuries reported to any of the first responders.
