Some of this money may be yours

Manatee County Clerk’s Office may have money that belong to you.

After completing the unclaimed funds list as required by Florida Statute 116.21, the office has released the list.

“These monies were collected in the course of the clerk’s court related activities, and have been held by our office for over five years,” a news release states. “These funds are considered unclaimed as no claim was made to the monies during the course of the case and/or no court order was entered disbursing the monies.”

The money has to be claimed by Sept. 1 and any funds not claimed will be placed into the Clerk’s Fine and Forfeiture Fund.

“We hope that citizens will take this opportunity to claim funds that rightfully belong to them,” Manatee County Clerk of the Circuit Court Angel Colonneso said.
