Heat and a slight chance of showers expected this week
Hold on to your shirts, it’s going to be a sweaty couple of days.
The high temperatures will stay in the low 90s for the rest of the week, while a chance of storms lingers daily after Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
Tuesday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high near 92, but with heat index values as high as 103, according to the NWS.
The chances for scattered showers and storms start Wednesday and continue through Sunday.
Wednesday will see similar heat to Tuesday, with an expected high near 92 and a heat index as high as 102, according to the NWS.
However, drier air is working its way into the atmosphere that will limit chances of storms Tuesday and Wednesday, according to Bay News 9. The NWS calls for a 30 percent chance of precipitation Wednesday.
Thursday and Friday will see highs near 91 and a chance of showers and storms, according to the NWS. But Bay News 9 meteorologists expect to see fewer storms and more sun as the week goes on.
The weekend is expected to have a high around 90 and scattered showers and thunderstorms as well, according to the NWS.
