FHP: Wrong-way driver leads to head-on collision in Sarasota
Two drivers were hospitalized late Tuesday after a head-on collision in Sarasota, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
A 77-year-old man from Mohegan Lake, N.Y. was driving the wrong way on a southbound lane of Honore Avenue just south of Jem Lane around 9 p.m., the FHP report said. A 20-year-old Sarasota man was driving southbound in the same lane, and the two cars collided head-on.
The 77-year-old was transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital for serious injuries and the 20-year-old was taken to Doctor’s Hospital for minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
