Weather forecast: Expect another chance for morning showers and storms Sunday
For Sunday, the rain chances begin earlier in the day along the coast just as we’ve seen Saturday. A few showers or storms begin in the morning in the Gulf of Mexico or along area beaches, then increase in coverage during the afternoon as they slowly shift inland and eastward.
High temperatures will stay in the low 90s, which is average for this time of year.
Monday and Tuesday will be normal July conditions with a 50 percent coverage of scattered storms and no dominant pattern or direction of movement. We are now in the time of year where storms tend to move very slowly and we just have to wait for them to rain themselves out.
A tropical wave will move toward us next Wednesday which will result in slightly drier air ahead of it lowering the coverage of storms for one day. The timing of storms will be later in the day with east winds. Then higher coverage of storms returns on Thursday.
Highs during the week will be normal, topping out around 90 to 92.
