Police looking for driver in hit-and-run crash on I-4
The Florida Highway Patrol is looking for a hit-and-run driver in a traffic crash Friday afternoon on Interstate 4 in Hillsborough County.
According to FHP, a grey/blue, four-door Chevy Silverado pickup truck was heading east on I-4 when the driver failed to slow for other stopped traffic ahead. The Silverado collided with the rear of a 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis, which then hit a 2012 Kia Forte.
The driver of the Silverado fled the scene, according to the FHP release, exiting I-4 at Mango Road and continuing on US-92. The Silverado had black after-market rims and a chrome bumper, according to FHP, with minimal damage to the front bumper and a temporary license plate.
