Fiery overnight crash claims four lives

Four people are dead after a fiery crash early Sunday morning in Charlotte County.

According to a release from the Florida Highway Patrol, a 2002 Audi A4 was eastbound on Rosemonte Drive approaching the intersection of Sunnybrook Road in Englewood, and a 2010 Chevy Tahoe was northbound on Sunnybrook Boulevard.

The Audi A4 failed to stop at the stop sign, the release stated, and the vehicles collided in the intersection. After the collision, the Audi A4 became engulfed in flames, killing all four occupants, according to FHP. The identification of the four victims has not been released, pending next of kin notification.

The occupants of the Chevy Tahoe, a family of five from New York, were hospitalized with minor injuries, according to the release.
