Search for missing swimmer in Tampa Bay

A search is underway for a missing swimmer in the waters of Old Tampa Bay off the shores of Cypress Point Park in Tampa, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

“Tampa Police reporting on scene at Cypress Point Park, conducting an extensive search for a missing swimmer,” the sheriff’s office wrote on Twitter.

At about 2:50 p.m. Saturday, a man said to be in his mid-30's was reported missing, the sheriff’s office reported being told by the Tampa Police Department.
