A Pinellas County sheriff’s deputy has been fired after publishing inappropriate posts on Snapchat, according to the sheriff’s office.

Austen Callus, 23, was hired by the sheriff’s office in November 2016 and completed his field training in May, patrolling the North District of Pinellas. But just one month later, complaints about inappropriate Snapchat posts came rolling in.

According to the sheriff’s office, one of the posts was a photo of him, off-duty, with text that read, “Nothing like almost shooting someone to set your head right lol. God I gate (sic) people with knives.”

The investigation began Tuesday, where he was put on probation, and concluded Thursday with his firing.
