On Monday, the high pressure on the surface and aloft that has been just east of Florida moves southeast over the Atlantic as a weak cold front pushes southeast over north Florida. This pattern provides a slight southwest flow and brings deep layer moisture overhead. Showers and storms will develop near the coast and will shift inland during the afternoon. The rain chance is 60 percent. High temperatures will come down a little into the upper 80s to around 90.

By Tuesday the front becomes stationary over north Florida. A moist and unstable atmosphere will lead to numerous thunderstorms. Storms may develop early along the coast and will build inland during the day. Skies will be partly sunny to mostly cloudy.

By Wednesday, the stationary front weakens and high pressure builds in from the east. The dominant wind flow becomes southeast. So thunderstorms will tend to develop on the east coast and will work toward the Gulf Coast by the evening.

This pattern will continue into the weekend. So expect storms a little later in the day, especially for the coastal counties.
