Animal Rescue Coalition has announced it will expand its free round-trip transportation service into Palmetto for low-cost spay and neuter.

A nonprofit offering low-cost spay and neuter services has expanded its transport service to Palmetto.

Animal Rescue Coalition will expand its free round-trip transportation services between its clinic in Sarasota to the Palmetto area. The first trip is scheduled for Wednesday.

“To further the mission of Animal Rescue Coalition, we’re expanding our free transportation route to offer even more pet owners an easy way to get their pets to veterinary care and home again,” said Mary Dietterle, the nonprofit’s executive director. “Many residents don’t realize Animal Rescue Coalition offers free and low-cost options for pet care, so we’re hoping to spread awareness and encourage pet owners to contact us.”

Since its founding, Animal Rescue Coalition has spayed and neutered more than 50,000 animals and this expansion improves access to low-cost spay and neuter services for Manatee County residents, according to a news release.

“The expanded route aims to take advantage of funding provided by Manatee County and provides low-income residents of the county access to free and reduced-cost surgeries,” according to the release.

This isn’t the first time the nonprofit has expanded its transport service into Manatee County. In 2015, Animal Rescue Coalition made its inaugural transport trip to Manatee County.
