More sun, drier air heading to our region

With Tropical Storm Cindy no longer a threat to our area, look for more sunshine and a heat index approaching 100 on Thursday.

It will be hot and humid with highs in the lower 90s, and look for scattered afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms.

Drier air from the Atlantic will nose into Florida from the east by Friday and over the weekend. Rain chances will be low for this time of year for much of the weekend.

With less rain and clouds, it will be hotter and, of course, remain humid.

Better chances for rain should return on Monday and into early next week.
