Sarasota woman killed in motorcycle crash

The Sarasota woman who died in a crash last week on State Road 70 has been identified.

The Florida Highway Patrol released the name of Jessie Caudill, a 20-year-old motorcyclist who was traveling eastbound on State Road 70 around 10:10 p.m. on June 13.

As she approached the intersection of 56th Court East, a 21-year-old Bradenton man driving a 2008 Infiniti G35S tried to make a U-turn from westbound State Road 70 and didn’t see the motorcycle, the FHP report said. The front side of the motorcycle struck the right rear of the car, according to FHP.

Caudill died at the scene. FHP said the woman might have been speeding faster than the posted limit.

The crash remains under investigation.
