Man shot in the arm near Rubonia Social Club in North Manatee

A man was taken to Blake Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the arm after an incident in North Manatee on Sunday.

At approximately 5 p.m., the victim pulled his vehicle in front of the Rubonia Social Club in the 1000 block of 72nd Street Court East, to apparently pick someone up, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office news release.

A person entered the victim’s vehicle and, after an undisclosed amount of time, the suspect, a male, got back out, and the victim drove away, according to the release.

As he was driving away, the victim heard gunshots and felt himself get hit in the arm, the release said.

The victim, who saw the suspect run away, sustained non life-threatening injuries, according to the release.
