Tampa police are investigating a homicide from Friday night in which a teen was shot and killed.

The shooting occurred around 7:20 p.m. in the area of North 36th Street and East Shadowlawn Avenue.

Police responded to the area and found the victim, Antwan Jenrette Jr., 18, with a gunshot wound.

Jenrette was transported to Tampa General Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Jenrette’s dad, Antwan Jenrette Sr., took to Facebook to express his grief, saying things like, rest in peace, dad loves you and that he can’t stop crying.

Tampa police are asking for the public’s help with information leading to the suspect. Those with information can call Tampa police at 813-231-6130.
