Man sent to hospital as trauma alert after scooter collided with vehicle
A man was taken to the hospital as a trauma alert after a scooter he was driving collided with a vehicle, according to police.
Bradenton police at the scene said they believe the vehicle was driving eastbound on Ninth Avenue West when the scooter pulled out in front of the vehicle from Third Street West.
Police shut down the eastbound lanes of Ninth Avenue West around 2:30 p.m. Thursday to investigate the crash.
The driver of the scooter was conscious when EMS crews took him to Blake Medical Center, but the extent of his injuries were unknown at the time of the crash.
The female driver of the vehicle was also taken to the hospital as a precaution, police said.
