Bradenton woman hospitalized after being hit on U.S. 41

An 18-year-old pedestrian was hospitalized after being hit by a car on U.S. 41 Tuesday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A 45-year-old man from Chesilhurst, N.J. was driving a Ford Mustang northbound in the center lane of U.S. 41, headed toward 68th Avenue West around 9:45 p.m, the FHP report said.

The pedestrian, an 18-year-old Bradenton woman, was walking southbound in the center lane of U.S. 41, just south of 68th Avenue West. The front left side of the Mustang hit the pedestrian, according to FHP.

The woman was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital to be treated for critical injuries. No charges were filed, according to FHP.
