Cashews distributed to Florida stores recalled due to possible glass pieces
A company has recalled thousands of packages of nuts after reports of glass pieces found inside, according to the recall on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration website.
Star Snacks Co. of Jersey City, N.J., initiated the voluntary recall after receiving reports of glass pieces found in the 8-ounce canisters of Southern Grove Cashew Halves and Pieces with Sea Salt with a best by date of Nov. 27 and 28, 2018, according to the FDA.
The snacks were distributed to Aldi stores in 29 states including Florida, according to the recall.
The products affected by the recall have already been removed from store shelves, according to the FDA.
So far, there have not been any reported injuries.
Consumers who purchased the snacks are urged not to consume them and may return the product to a local Aldi store for a refund or dispose of the item. Consumers with questions may contact Star Snacks at 201-882-4593 or RecallFEQ01@gmail.com, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. EST Monday through Friday.
