Scott reappoints Myakka City man to water district governing board

A Myakka City business owner was reappointed to the Southwest Florida Water Management District governing board on Monday, Gov. Rick Scott announced.

John Henslick, president and owner of Henslick & Associates, LLC, was initially appointed on Sept. 25, 2015. The 66-year-old has been an environmental consultant for more than 30 years, according to his profile on the agency’s website, and is a certified professional wetland scientist.

Having served in the U.S. Navy for four years, Henslick received his bachelor’s degree from Jacksonville University and a master’s degree from the University of Florida, according to his profile.

His term on the governing board will end on March 1, 2021, pending confirmation by the Florida Senate.
