Chance of rain picks up over next several days
Most of the afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms have stayed inland over the past two days, but according to Bay News 9 meteorologist Brian McClure, that will begin to change Thursday.
The storms will start a little earlier in the afternoon Thursday and cover more of the Tampa Bay area, with a 50 percent chance of rain, according to McClure.
High temperatures will continue to get into the low 90s Thursday, with the chance of rain about 60 to 70 percent on Friday and through the weekend. The higher chance of rain will keep high temperatures down a few degrees over the weekend, according to Bay News 9’s seven-day forecast.
McClure warns that the storms will be very heavy and contain a lot of dangerous lightning.
