Deer cause injury crash in Lithia
Three people were injured early Saturday after their car swerved to avoid deer and crashed, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Bartow resident Dalton Storie, 26, was driving two others in a 1997 BMW eastbound on State Road 674 east of County Road 39 around 1 a.m. when he tried to avoid deer on the road, the FHP report said. Storie overcorrected, losing control of the car and hitting several trees.
A 25-year-old passenger was flown to Tampa General Hospital to be treated for critical injuries. Storie and the other passenger had minor injuries but were not hospitalized.
Storie was cited for driving while license suspended and having no insurance.
