82-year-old man seriously injured after crash
A Sarasota man was flown to the hospital Wednesday after his vehicle crashed along Fruitville Road.
The 82-year-old man’s 2011 Buick Lucerne was traveling east on Fruitville Road west of Verna Road when the vehicle went across the westbound lane and onto the shoulder of the roadway, striking a guardrail, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The Buick stopped on the north side of the road.
The driver was flown to Sarasota Memorial Hospital with serious injuries, according to FHP.
