Kidnapped, beaten and left in the woods, a teen recovers as three face charges

A teenager was kidnapped, beaten and left in the woods for dead after three people attacked him, according to reports.

Three Brevard County residents — Chrystal Kirkpatrick, her husband Lindsey Kirkpatrick and Oakleighey Doughten — were arrested and charged in connection with the incident, according to WESH.

The trio allegedly beat, duct-taped the hands and feet of a 16-year-old boy and drove him to Satellite Boulevard in West Cocoa, according to WESH.

Believing the boy stole money from them, the trio allegedly lured the boy into a home, slammed him to the floor — dislocating his shoulder — and held a gun to his head, WESH reported.

They then allegedly drove the teen down an isolated road, continued to beat him, took his clothes and left him there, where he spent the night before walking out on his own, according to WESH.

The boy was taken to a hospital and is now under the care of the state, WESH reported.

Chrystal Kirkpatrick is charged with child neglect with great bodily harm and being held on a $5,000 bond, according to the Brevard County Jail site. Lindsey Kirkpatrick and Doughten are charged with aggravated child abuse, kidnapping, false imprisonment, child neglect with great bodily harm, and robbery and are being held on bonds of more than $100,000. Doughten is also facing a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
