Troopers investigating possible domestic incident before woman died in crash

A 32-year-old Fort Myers woman is dead after an early morning crash Saturday, but Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating whether something suspicious happened before she died.

Around 2:40 a.m., Kristina Marie Josie was driving a 2008 Pontiac G6 on Grande Oak Boulevard in Estero when the car veered south, hitting a concrete sign and shrubs.

According to FHP, the car then became airborne, crashing into a garage door and unoccupied parked car inside of the garage.

Josie was pronounced dead by Lee County EMS.

FHP troopers are investigating a possible domestic incident that started before the crash, according to a press release. Josie was the only person in the car, according to FHP.
