Smoke in laundromat caused by dryer

West Manatee Fire Rescue units were called to the San Remo Laundromat along Cortez Road West shortly after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday to investigate smoke in the building.

Investigators found there was no fire, but a dryer with a build of of lint overheated, causing some smoke in the laundromat next the Cortez Clam Factory.

There were no reports of injuries, and officials said the laundromat would be closed until dryer vents are serviced.
