National Ugly Sweater Day celebrated on social media
Friday was National Ugly Sweater Day, according to nationaluglychristmassweaterday.org and people across the internet were sharing their favorite “ugly” sweaters with #NationalUglySweaterDay.
The “ugly” Christmas sweater has become a phenomenon in recent years that sends folks digging through their parents’ old clothes and scouring thrift shops. Ugly sweaters have even become the theme of holiday parties from the office to friendly gatherings.
The idea is often the “uglier” and more absurd the sweater, the better. Designs range from traditional reindeer and snowmen to pizza-eating Teenage Muntant Ninja Turtles.
