One man shot, another injured in armed robbery
One man was shot and another was struck in the head during an armed robbery early Sunday morning in Sarasota, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
The victims told deputies that two men entered the residence, located in the 1700 block of 76th Ave. Dr. East, and started making demands. According to the MCSO, Charles J. Long was shot during the incident and John N. Canter was struck in the head. The suspects took several items and fled the scene.
Long and Canter were hospitalized and listed in stable condition.
According to the MCSO, the suspects were black males, and one was about 6 feet tall, wearing a white hoodie and black sweatpants. Anyone with information is asked to call the MCSO at (941) 747-3011 or Crime Stoppers at 866-634-TIPS.
