Republican club luncheon to feature local candidates
Republican candidates for Manatee County Commission and School Board will be featured at a luncheon next month.
The Women of Manatee County Republican Club is hosting the luncheon, which will be at noon Friday, Oct. 7 at the Renaissance on 9th.
Manatee County Commissioner Betsy Benac, who is running for re-election to her District 7 at-large seat, and Steve Jonsson, who is running for District 3 seat will speak. Benac’s challenger, Jack Richardson, as well as the two other candidates for the District 3 seat, Matt Bower and David Zaccagnino, have no party affiliation and are not allowed to speak at the luncheon.
School board member Dave Miner and his opponent for the District 3 seat Misty Servia will both speak as well as Gina Messenger, who is running for District 1 school board. Ed Viltz, who is the other candidate vying for the District 1 school board, is not a registered Republican.
