League of Women Voters releases voters’ guide
The League of Women Voters of Manatee County is helping to make sure all voters are informed in advance of the Nov. 8 election.
To do that, the group has created a voters guide with candidates’ responses to a questionnaire as well as other information on its website, lwvmanatee.org.
“Many voters are telling us that they need information about the upcoming election so they can make informed decisions,” Rosalie Shaffer, LWVMC president, said in a news release. “There’s a tremendous amount of information out there, but it’s not always easy to find.”
The online Voter Information Center has information about the candidates for Fire District Commissions, the judges that will appear on the ballot and the proposed amendments to the Florida Constitution. Oct. 11 is the deadline to register to vote for the General Election.
“I hope every voter will realize that each of us has a large personal stake in the outcome of this election,” Shaffer said. “I also hope that if anyone is unsure of how they will vote on a candidate or an issue, they will take the time to learn about them before they go to the polls.”
