Will you wear a mask at SRQ or Tampa airports now that COVID mandate has changed?
U.S. District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle in Tampa overturned the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention mask mandate on Monday, which required passengers in the U.S to wear a face-covering while on planes, trains and buses.
The ruling caused several airlines and the federal Transportation Security Administration to quickly change their policies on face masks, making them optional for travelers.
While passengers can now choose to wear a mask or not while flying, the CDC and the White House still advise travelers to wear one until at least May 3.
COVID-19 cases have started to trend again in Florida this past month.
The CDC continues to track a new COVID-19 variant. The omicron BA.2 subvariant has accounted for 85% of COVID-19 cases in the United States.
What is your verdict on the travel mask-mandate? Will you continue to wear a mask at the airport, or are you relieved to be able to travel without one?
