Three more Manatee County residents die from COVID-19, health department says
Three Manatee County residents are among the 127 Floridians newly confirmed to have died from COVID-19, the Florida Department of Health said Wednesday.
In Manatee County, there have been a total of 263 residents who have died from COVID-19, the deadly respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus.
The latest victims were a 57-year-old man, a 73-year-old woman and an 84-year-old man. One of the three lived or worked at a local long-term care facility, according the FDOH data.
Statewide, a total of 11,501 residents have died since the pandemic started. The deaths of three additional non-residents were also reported, making a total of 150 non-residents who have died in the state.

Across the state there were 2,402 new infections reported, making a total of 633,442 people in Florida who have tested positive.
Tuesday’s data dump of nearly 75,000 test results — some which dated as far back as April — renewed concerns that coronavirus cases are being under reported. Of the 64 new local infections reported on Tuesday in Manatee County, there were 20 cases that were backlogged.
