Florida’s Department of Health on Monday confirmed 73 new deaths in Florida, including one in Manatee County.

Since the pandemic began, 187 county residents have died from the respiratory disease. Statewide, the official death toll now stands at 7,157. There have also been another 122 non-residents who have died from the disease.

The death in Manatee was a 17-year-old boy, according to state data.

The state health department on Monday also reported 92 new cases of people in Manatee County who have tested positive for COVID. Statewide, 4,752 tested positive.
