Another eight people test positive for COVID-19 in Manatee County

Another eight people in Manatee County have tested positive for COVID-19, according to the latest data from the Florida Department of Health.

They were among 739 new cases reported statewide.

Another four Florida residents who tested positive for the novel coronavirus have died, according to the state health department. The death toll in Manatee County remained at 97.

A total of of 1,045 cases have been confirmed in Manatee since testing began. The rate at which people in Manatee County are testing positive for the virus decreased again slightly to 5.8 percent.

Manatee County cases from Saturday to Sunday:

  • The number of positive cases increased from 1,037 to 1,045.
  • The death toll remained at 97.
  • The number of residents hospitalized increased from 212 to 214.
  • The number of males who have tested positive is 441, compared to 596 females.
  • The number of residents tested increased from 17,694 to 18,110.
  • Manatee County’s percentage of positive cases compared to the number of residents tested is 5.8 percent.
  • 421 cases (41% of all cases) were among residents and staff of long-term care facilities in Manatee.
  • Three cases were confirmed among staff and/or residents at correctional facilities.
