Bus parade set to honor students throughout Manatee County. Here are all the details
Students’ last day of school is on Thursday, and the School District of Manatee County has announced a plan to celebrate.
A convoy of school buses will leave the Robert G. Matzke Support Complex at 9:05 a.m. on Thursday, making stops throughout Manatee County, according to a news release.
“Families are invited to share pride for our bus drivers, bus aides, food service workers, teachers, administrators, staff and students by cheering them on somewhere along the route,” it states. “It’s been a challenging end to the school year but we’re celebrating our incredible school communities!
The celebration — “This is How We Roll” — includes more than a dozen stops:
- Francis Wakeland Support Center (bus loop), 1812 27th St. E., Bradenton — 9:07 a.m.
- Southeast High School (bus loop) — 9:16 a.m.
- Daughtrey Elementary School via Oneco — 9:23 a.m.
- Bayshore Elementary School via Bayshore Gardens — 9:29 a.m.
- Bayshore High School (bus loop) — 9:31 a.m.
- Manatee High School — 9:44 a.m.
- Rogers Garden-Bullock Elementary School — 9:51 a.m.
- Palmetto High School — 9:59 a.m.
- Virgil Mills Elementary and Buffalo Creek Middle School — 10:23 a.m.
- Parrish Community High School — 10:30 a.m.
- Annie Lucy Williams Elementary School — 10:43 a.m.
- Lakewood Ranch High School and MTC East Campus — 10:54 a.m.
- Braden River High School and MTC Main Campus — 11:15 a.m.
- Return to Matzke Support Complex — 11:28 a.m.
Along with the school buses, Thursday’s celebration will include principals, district employees, county firefighters and supporters from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
“Supporters are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines for social distancing during the county-wide parade,” the release continues. “Share your photos online by using #ManateeStrong or #WeManatee.”
