‘Mega food pantry’ Tuesday will help feed Bradenton’s hungry during pandemic

A “mega food pantry” at State College of Florida on Tuesday will provide food for those struggling to make ends meet during the coronavirus pandemic.

Suncoast United Way, which is partnering with Feeding Tampa Bay for the event,. is donating $100,000 from its COVID-19 Relief and Recovery Fund to provide food.

Food distribution will start at 3:30 p.m. and continue until 6:30 p.m.

According to Jim Gillen, Suncoast United Way vice president of communications, the event will make sure hundreds of families get what they need during this difficult time.

“We are excited to continue to partner with Feeding Tampa Bay in supporting so many families in our communities,” Gillen said. “We expect to be able to feed hundreds of families at this event.”

Staff from Suncoast United Way, as well as Feeding Tampa Bay will be on hand to answer other questions in how they can help.

The event will take place at SCF’s campus in Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W.
