Nine new coronavirus cases reported in Manatee and Sarasota. Statewide total passes 760

The number of COVID-19 cases in Florida continues to rise, including in Manatee and Sarasota counties, according to the Florida Department of Health.

There were three additional cases reported in Manatee County, bringing the total to 13, including one who died. Seven men and six women, with an average age of 68, have tested positive in Manatee.

In all, there have been 763 cases statwide, including 12 deaths.

In all, 101 people have been tested in Manatee County. As of Saturday, results were pending for eight tests.

Six new cases were reported in Sarasota County, bringing the total number of cases there to 14.

Seven of the 14 posive cases were non-travel related, three were travel related and four are still under investigation to determine where the patients were exposed to the coronavirus, according to the health department.

In Sarasota, 10 men and four women, with an average age of 71, have tested positive.

More than three times as many people — 318 — have been tested in Sarasota County than in Manatee. As of Saturday evening, results of 47 tests in Sarasota remained pending.

Statewide, the most COVID-19 cases have been reported in Miami-Dade, 169, followed by Broward County, with 164.
