In response to the coronavirus pandemic and established state and federal guidelines for social distancing, the city of Palmetto is closing the doors to city hall to visitors and temporarily canceling public meetings.

All building lobbies are currently closed, with the exception of the Palmetto Police Department’s lobby, which remains open.

Lobby closures include city hall, public works administration and the community redevelopment agency office.

City staff remains on hand to continue to serve the public, but transactions are encouraged to take place online and over the phone whenever possible by visiting palmettofl.org.

The city has canceled its March public meetings to include the March 19 planning and zoning meeting and March 23 regular city council and work shop meetings.

“We will continue to monitor the latest developments related to COVID-19 and will provide updates as appropriate,” according to the city clerk’s office. “We encourage all residents to take care of ourselves and others during this public health crisis.”
