The Mall at UTC's SEE holds 'Protect Your Privates' in fight against ovarian cancer
UNIVERSITY PARK -- As a part of Ovarian Cancer Month, Selective Eyewear Elements at The Mall at University Town Center encourages you to "Protect Your Privates."
The "Protect Your Privates" campaign includes distributing free ovarian cancer education kits at SEE locations nationwide and sending weekly facts and figures, as well as opportunities to get involved via email or social media. SEE will donate all proceeds from the sale of their "Protect Your Privates" T-shirts sold in stores and on the SEE website (www.seeeyewear.com) throughout September.
Every Monday, a portion of sales from all 37 SEE stores in September will go to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.
The SEE company, founded by former DigitalOptics Corp. President and CEO Richard Golden, uses its retail power to raise money and awareness of its "pet causes": ovarian cancer, human rights and animal welfare. Golden's wife Shelley is an ovarian cancer survivor.
"Like most women, I was unaware of preventative measures I could have taken that may have prevented this terrible disease," Shelley said in a release. "I only wish I knew then what I know now about these facts."
The "Protect Your Privates" enters its fifth year and partners with the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund this year. OCRF works to fund scientific research on ovarian cancer to encourage identification, treatment and ultimately a cure for ovarian cancer.
SEE Eyewear is between Saks Fifth Avenue and Macy's on the ground level. Call SEE at (941) 866-6586 for more information.
